Super Easy Mini Apple Tart
For those who know me they know that I like to make everything mini. My boyfriend sent me a text message just after work asking for apple pie. He suggested that we use pre-made pastry. I took this as an opportunity to make pastry for the first time. I purchased a fluted French Tart Pan to make my beauties.
Ingredients for Dough:
Yield: 6
1 1/2 cups flour
3/4 butter
1/3 cold water
2 tbsp sugar
1-2 Tbsp of melted butter
Directions:
1. Add flour, 1 tbsp of sugar and butter in a food processor. Pulse until the butter is in pea sized portions.
2. Add water and pulse mixer until it is blended.
3.Put some flour on your rolling surface and roll out the pastry to 1/8 or so.
4. Use your melted butter and grease the tart moulds. Put the pastry in the mould and cut it so that it fits. You will have left over pastry for the top.
Filling:
-We used Casey's (my bf) canned apples. If you do not have yummy canned apples I suggest:
Ingredients:
4 Apples, cinnamon, brown sugar and butter.
Directions
1. Chop up the apples and put them with some butter in a pan. Add some brown sugar and cinnamon. Cook until softened and set aside to cool.
